MoneyZo Help Center & FAQ

Got questions? We've got answers. Explore everything you need to know about MoneyZo, Auto-Track, privacy, and data management below.

What is MoneyZo and how does it help me manage my finances?
MoneyZo is a modern, privacy-focused personal finance manager designed to track your daily income, expenses, and account balances effortlessly. It features real-time budget tracking, visual financial analytics, offline encrypted backups, and automated SMS notification detection to help you gain full control of your money without tedious manual entry.
Is my financial data safe? Does MoneyZo store data on cloud servers?
Yes, 100%! Your financial data is stored strictly locally on your device. MoneyZo does not upload your personal bank records, transaction histories, or account numbers to any cloud servers, nor do we sell your data. You maintain complete ownership and control over your financial records.
How does Auto-Track SMS expense detection work?
When enabled on Android devices, MoneyZo safely inspects incoming bank notification SMS messages locally on your phone. It automatically extracts payment details (such as amount, account name, and merchant) and adds them to your "Pending Transactions" queue. You can then review and confirm them with a single tap.
Does MoneyZo require access to my online banking logins or passwords?
Never. MoneyZo will never ask for your bank credentials, passwords, PINs, or net banking logins. It reads only local notification alerts (with your explicit permission) to process expenses offline without connecting to bank servers.
Can I manage multiple accounts like Bank, Cash, and Credit Cards?
Itemized multi-account tracking is built right in. You can create Bank Accounts, Cash Wallets, Credit Cards, and Savings accounts. Track transfers between accounts, set opening balances, and pick a default account for fast logging.
How do I back up or transfer my financial data to another phone?
MoneyZo includes a built-in AES-256 encrypted Backup & Restore system. Go to Settings -> Backup & Restore to export your data into a .moneyzo backup file. You can save or share this file and import it on a new device, choosing either to merge with existing data or replace current records.
How does category-wise budgeting work?
You can set custom budget limits for any category (such as Groceries, Dining Out, Utilities, or Travel) for daily, weekly, or monthly periods. MoneyZo tracks your current spend against your limit in real time and alerts you before overspending.
What should I do if a bank notification SMS isn't automatically tracked?
Ensure Notification Listener permissions are granted for MoneyZo under Settings -> App Preference -> Auto Track Transactions. If a rare bank SMS format is missed, you can manually log it in seconds while our parser continuously receives updates for new bank formats.
Can I customize the app's theme and accent colors?
Yes! Under Settings -> Appearance, you can select Light Mode, Dark OLED Mode, or System Theme, pick from 5 primary accent colors (Emerald, Blue, Purple, Crimson, Orange), and choose between a Fixed Edge-to-Edge Bar or Floating Stadium Bar.
Is MoneyZo free to use? Are there hidden subscription fees?
MoneyZo core features are completely free to use without hidden charges. We believe personal finance management and data privacy should be accessible to everyone.
